Ah, yes. The day before results release. The next 18 hours or so is going to dictate whether or not i spend the rest of my miserable life writing in letters and words or whether I spend the next 3 months or so doing a combination of sleeping in class and forging "excuse from class" letters. Strangely enough, I feel so confident that I don't even think I'll get anything below a C.

If I do, however, don't be too alarmed if you see a figure flashing by your window tomorrow.

Today was a rather strange day, spent watching movies where people die.

It's good to be inconspicious. For one, you can spread whatever rumours and untruths you want, and nobody'll remember you said it unless you're actually dumb enough to own up. Even if you blog it, nobody'll remember because you're hardly ever noticeable.

Some people, on the other hand, have their blogs so popular that you see it on half of the school computer's histories.

Oasis concert today was the bomb! They are some good, I must say. Not to mention the great company. One of the few times as of late I've laughed so hard.

Walking in circles only to end up some fifty metres away from the Singapore Indoor stadium, however, was one of the biggest wastes of time I could come up with. ever.

"Eh, I walk under this underpass before! And I got home!"
*Five minutes later*
"Eh, the only thing we can do after going through the underpass is...cross right back?"
"Now I remember, I made this mistake before!"

Nothing in life ever goes to plan. I'm sure you'd know all about it. The late days. The wrong answers. The awkward replies. Some of these you can just accept and cast aside absent mindedly. But the real measure of a person comes when he shows how he can switch his agenda to make the wrong answer the right one. How he treats an end as a beginning. Which is true that after a while, you've either changed your plans too much to know what your real aim is, screwed up too much that it becomes so customary you dont even bother anymore, or already turned into a broken shell. Indeed, these are the times when people have the greatest oppotunity to prove themselves. If not to the world, then to the self. When complications in the plan throw a monkey wrench into the grand scheme of things, a real person doesn't sweep it under the rug and flash a cheeky smile, he simply smashes it to bits and sweeps everything up.

To be flexible is one of the greatest assets a person could ever hope to have.

Every living thing on this earth, big or small, light or dark, is still made primarily of DNA. Those magical swirly, colourful strings you always see on TV. It doesn't matter that we have marrow, red blood cells or platelets ; None of those would matter if we didn't have DNA. What we are and who we are are determined by our DNA structure. Tinker around with it a little, and that beautiful little rose bush becomes a tyrannosaurus rex.

Okay, maybe that would require A LOT of tinkering, but the bottom line is that when something changes at the very foundation, even a small switch causes huge repurcussions on many other levels. Think of it as the chaos theory, where an ant changing the course of its run manages to indirectly cause a hurricane in the Bahamas. Ever had something on one area of your life, be it a death in the family, a loss in a final or a sad breakup, affect you on a 24-hourly basis?

It's pretty simple, really. Don't let anything affect your focus and you'll be all right.

I have absolutely nothing to say right now.

Over the course of time, something has happened to love. Sanskrit has 96 words for it. Ancient Persian has 80, Greek has 3, and yet English, the most widely used language today, only has one. As time passes by, love's gotten distilled. While Man continues to experience an infinite variety of emotions and mental states, a single four-letter word has taken it all upon its back. It is the cause of all these emotions, and like a tsunami, it drowns them all out. Such is its overwhelming presence. That is such a heavy responsibility for such a tiny word to carry on its back. Then again, the longest words that appear in dictionaries today, such as Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis and supercalifragilisticexpialidocious remain of relatively microscopic when compared to love. Love is strong. While it may not hold up sometimes, it stands up to every challenge it faces, bravely even when faced without alternative. Love is alive today and in every place on Earth. But it is not shown.

Valentine's Day, in its current form, serves simply as a way for greedy florists and other sneaky merchants to exploit people for one day of the year, by charging exorbitant amounts of money just for them to show how much they love their loved ones for one day of the year. However, the fact remains that money cannot be a substitute for love, no matter what the amount. While the idea behind this certainly is nice, does this mean we do not show our love to each other for the other 364 days of the year? Love fits into many different places ; It is not all about romance. Sanskrit teaches us love of many things : Love for oneself, love for friends, love for enemies(after all, without them, friends would be for granted), and love for many things we take for granted today. So, show the people around you that you love them, be it your unreasonable economics teacher, that lecherous security guard, that girl you've always admired from afar or that cutie you've never failed to have a chuckle at. Even a tiny smile can make someone feel a bit better.

For those wondering, I spent my Valentine's day on MC, slacking around at home.

Life is very much like a game of poker. While the biggest difference remains that you can live life in Las Vegas without a shady ID and a fake moustache, there are an awful lot of similarities.
The principal of poker cards were invented an awfully long time ago, and as we generally know, there are a lot of complexities when it comes to poker cards. Don't believe me? How about this: There are fifty-two cards in a regular deck of playing cards and fifty-two weeks in the year. Four suits, four seasons. Two colors, night and day. If you add up the spot cost of all the cards in a deck, you get 364, which with the addition of either one or both of the jokers, gives you the number of days in any year, leap or not. It continues . . . If you spell through the values of each type of card (ace, two, three, and so forth) all the way up to king, you’ll find that it takes exactly fifty-two letters to get to king. This works in English, French, German, Dutch, and various other languages. There's probably more to it to, but that wasn't what I wanted to say. Much like cards, the complexities of life are enough to topple a single human mind over the brink of insanity from overthinking of it.

Attempting to take life by the reins can soon become too much for one to handle. Balancing work and family life in addition to other commitments can be rather difficult sometimes. Sure, at the end you're going to feel like it's all worth it, but considering the effort you put in, it'd be a shame if you didn't. Attempting a establish a balance in life can be like juggling kittens sometimes : the more effort you put into doing it, the more you get hurt. For those who've never juggled kittens before, they become a lot less furry and a lot more clawy when in mid-air.

Similarly, in cards, while you'll be happy when you play with your aces, at the same time you'll be cursing when you get your hand that consists of random twos when you're not plaing daidee. At the same time, in poker, heart attack, mahjong and other random games, you're often forced to make a decision on what to throw away and what to keep in hand, whether you like it or not, and sometimes more hastily than you'd like to normally be. In life, crossroads never give you enough time to dwell over any decision for too long, since the sad fact is that life goes on and you'll never be seventeen forever.

Ultimately, life is a game. It's meant to be enjoyed.

sigh, my mind doesn't wander, it takes off and runs.

There are some moments when you wish you could just sink into the ground and live out your life quietly there.

I've been experiencing an awful lot of that lately.

Hmm, iPod beds, iPod boxers, what will apple think of next?

Come on Creative, show your, uh, creativity?
Now, there isn't much to look forward to. School ends at 5 everyday, there aren't any holidays coming up, the mountain of homework is piling up, and my marks are getting redder than a tomato on chinese new year. Now that can't be good.

---

It's time to think about what my life would be better without.
wow, 2 days have culminated in me not doing anything.

Today was the college road race, or rather, MJ mass walk. Makes me wonder what the school actually organises these things for, all that happens is the sports people reasserting their fortitude as usual. Not that I have anything against sports, but I mean organising an event for 10% of the population to engage in isn't exactly constructive.

Not that I minded missing lessons, it's never a bad thing. Now, if I could only find a way to sleep without getting caught/snoring....

So, what else is new?

(on a side note, getting screamed at by a chinese teacher sucks. Big time.)
